Amaya Retuerta Mingo- Reflection about Asperger Syndrome

Asperger is a syndrome that affect some people. It makes them to have problems like social skills and connections, problems with the use of language for communicative purposes, features of behavior related to recurrent or persistent features and a limited range of interests. In most cases they have motor clumsiness.

If in my class there was any asperger children I would try to help him or her in the better way.

Teachers must know what kind of situations affect those children and create them anxiety to avoid them and help students to overcome them. We must also create a good environment in the classroom for them not to feel bad and excluded.

I would also make some talks to the students and teachers to help them and integrate these people in class. They must know how to trate wtih asperger people and be consciuos of their little problem for don't make them feel bad. They have to integrate them to the rest of the class to the extent possible. In that way, those people will se that the rest make an effort to help them and make them feel comfortable and good, we have to fight for them not to feel excluded and make them feel fine. They are not alone, all of us can provide something to fight against the exclussion and integrate them in the society.

Other way to trate with this kind of people is, for example, in the break or lessons' changes, if we see them separate from the rest, we have to do any activity or something to distract them for them not to be altered.

There are also many different materials and activities, like games, apps, etc., that help teachers and asperger people in class. I will porpuse different games in class, in which everybody will play and all together will have a good time and enjoy at school. I would use also different instruments like tablets, computers... and different app and interactive games for all the students, with what they will enjoy in the same way and they use new technologies too. With that, asperger people could relate with different people, real and unreal people (characters of the games) and they will enjoy.

It could be interesting too, to make differents activities like drafting, with what they can express their emotions, feelings, likes and dislikes, without the necessity of speaking in public, so they will feel more comfortable. They could create stories, to express their imagination.
